Glad Tidings to those who Remain Steadfast on Deen

Written by

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “Islam had commenced like a stranger in the world (outwardly seeming like the odd one out in society), and soon before Qiyaamah, Islam will again be seen as a stranger (among the people). Glad tidings to those who are regarded as strangers (on account of them remaining steadfast on Deen and opposing the ways of the kuffaar).”

Hadith 20-21

Written by

It is reported from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said that Allah Ta‘ala said, “The son of Nabi Aadam (‘alaihis salaam) (man) has denied Me, and it is not right for him to do so, and he has spoken ill of Me, and it is not right for him to do so. As for his denying Me, then it is his statement, ‘Allah will never resurrect me (in the Hereafter) as He created me initially,’ whereas creating something for a second time is not more difficult for Me than creating it the first time (i.e. both are equal for Allah Ta‘ala). As for his speaking ill of Me, then it is his statement, ‘Allah took a son,’ whereas I am the only one and I am As-Samad (i.e. the One who is completely independent of the creation while the creation is completely dependent upn Me), I neither begot nor was I begotten, and there is no one like me.”

In the narration of Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbaas (radhiyallahu ‘anhuma), the following wording appears, “As for his speaking ill of me, then it is his saying that I have a child, whereas I am exalted and pure from taking a wife or a child.”

A Believer’s Mindset when Earning Wealth

Written by

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “Whoever seeks the dunya in order to earn a halaal livelihood, safeguard himself from begging, provide for his family and to show kindness to his neighbours (by assisting them with his wealth), he will meet Allah Ta‘ala (on the Day of Qiyaamah) with his face shining like the fourteenth full moon, and whoever seeks the dunya in a halaal manner, but (his intention is) to amass the wealth of the world and to show off to others, he will meet Allah Ta‘ala (on the Day of Qiyaamah) while Allah Ta‘ala will be angry with him.”

Hadith 19

Written by

Hazrat Abu Sa’eed Khudri (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports:

Once, Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) came out to the Eid-Gah on the occasion of either Eid-ul-Adhaa or Eid-ul-Fitr. (After addressing the men,) Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) passed by the women and addressed them saying, “O group of women! Give alms and charity, as I was shown (on the occasion of mi’raaj) that the majority of the people of Jahannum were women.” The women enquired, “O Rasul of Allah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam), what is the reason for that?” Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) replied, “You have the habit of cursing and you are ungrateful to your husbands, and I have not seen anyone who while being deficient in intelligence and deen, is more capaable than you in causing a prudent man to lose his intelligence.” Hearing this, the women asked, “O Rasul of Allah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam)! What is the deficiency in our deen and intelligence?” Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) answered, “Is the testimony of one woman not equivalent to half the testimony of a man?” The women responded, “It certainly is!” Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) explained, “This (a woman’s testimony being equivalent to half the testimony of a man) is on account of the deficiency in her intelligence.” Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) then asked, “Is it not such that when a woman experiences her menses, then she does not perform salaah and does not fast?” The women responded, “It certainly is!” Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) explained, “This (not performing salaah and fasting in menses) is on account of her deficiency in deen.”

The Fitnah of Women and Wealth

Written by

Hazrat Abu Sa‘eed Khudri (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “Indeed, the world is sweet and lush (i.e. attractive and enticing), and Allah Ta‘ala has appointed you as vicegerents in the world, so that He may examine your conduct and behaviour in the world. Hence, beware of the fitnah of the dunya (i.e. the fitnah of wealth) and the fitnah of women, as the first fitnah of the Banu Israa’eel was the fitnah of women.”

The Key to Spreading Love between People

Written by

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “You will not enter Jannah until you bring Imaan, and you will not attain perfect Imaan until you have love for one another. Shall I not show you an action which is such that if you carry it out, you will develop love for one another? Make salaam a common practice among yourselves.”

Virtuous Actions

Written by

It has been reported from Hazrat Mu’aaz bin Jabal (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) that on one occasion, he asked Nabi (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) regarding the most virtuous actions of Imaan. Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) replied, “(The most virtuous actions are) that you love (people) for the sake of Allah Ta‘ala, you have hatred and enmity (for people) for the sake of Allah Ta‘ala, and you keep your tongue engaged in the remembrance of Allah Ta‘ala.” Hazrat Mu’aaz (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) then asked, “And besides this, is there any other action, O Rasul of Allah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam)?” Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) answered, “And that you love for people what you love for yourself, and you dislike for them what you dislike for yourself.”

Hazrat Abu Mas‘ood Ansaari (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “When a muslim spends on his family with the hope of receiving reward from Allah for it (the spending), it will be a means of him receiving the reward of sadaqah.”
