Holding Fast to the Majority and Salaah in the Musjid
Written by user2عن معاذ بن جبل أن نبي الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال إن الشيطان ذئب الإنسان كذئب الغنم يأخذ الشاة القاصية والناحية فإياكم والشعاب وعليكم بالجماعة والعامة والمسجد (مجمع الزوائد #2033)
Hazrat Mu‘aaz bin Jabal (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) narrates that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “Indeed Shaitaan is the wolf of humans, like the wolf of goats that seizes the goat which is distant and in a corner. Hence, you should refrain from (breaking up into) groups, and you should hold fast to the Jamaat (i.e. the congregational prayer in the musjid), the Muslim majority and the Musjid.”
عن زيد بن ثابت رضي الله عنه قال سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول نضر الله امرأ سمع منا حديثا فحفظه حتى يبلغه فرب حامل فقه إلى من هو أفقه منه ورب حامل فقه ليس بفقيه (سنن أبي داود #3662)
Hazrat Zaid bin Thaabit (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports, “I heard Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) saying, ‘May Allah Ta‘ala bless that person with beauty who hears a Hadith from us, and thereafter memorizes it until he conveys it (to others). There are many who carry the knowledge of Fiqh (i.e. they are in possession of Ahaadith which relate to laws of Shari‘ah) and convey it to those who are more understanding than them, and there are many who carry the knowledge of Fiqh yet do not possess the understanding of it.”
عن عبد الله بن مسعود قال قال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم لا حسد إلا في اثنتين رجل آتاه الله مالا فسلط على هلكته في الحق ورجل آتاه الله الحكمة فهو يقضي بها ويعلمها (صحيح بخاري #73، صحيح مسلم #816)
Hazrat ‘Abdullah bin Mas‘ood (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) narrates that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “Envy is not permissible except in regard to two types of people. The first person is the one whom Allah Ta‘ala has blessed with wealth and Allah Ta‘ala blesses him with the ability to spend it in the correct manner. The second person is the one whom Allah Ta‘ala has blessed with Deeni knowledge, and he correctly practices upon it and imparts it to others.”
عن عائشة رضي الله عنها أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم كان إذا اشتكى نفث على نفسه بالمعوذات ومسح عنه بيده فلما اشتكى وجعه الذي توفي فيه طفقت أنفث على نفسه بالمعوذات التي كان ينفث وأمسح بيد النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم عنه وفي رواية أخرى لها قالت وأمسح بيد نفسه لبركتها ( صحيح بخاري #4439،5735 )
It is reported from Hazrat ‘Aa’ishah (radhiyallahu ‘anha) that whenever Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) would fall ill, he would recite the Mu‘awwizaat (words of seeking protection i.e. Surah Falaq and Surah Naas and in some narrations, Surah Ikhlaas) and blow upon himself (i.e. he would blow into his hands) and pass his hands over his blessed body. When he (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) fell into his final illnesss (and was unable to recite and pass his blessed hands over his body), I began to recite the Mu‘awwizaat which he would recite and blow on his body, and I would blow into the blessed hand of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) and pass it over his body.” In another narration, Hazrat ‘Aa’ishah (radhiyallahu ‘anha) mentioned, “I would blow into the blessed hand of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) and thereafter pass it over his body on account of his hand having the blessing (i.e. I would not blow into my own hands as my hands do not possess the blessing that is in the hand of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam)).”
عن أبي هريرة عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال إياكم والظن فإن الظن أكذب الحديث ولا تحسسوا ولا تجسسوا ولا تحاسدوا ولا تدابروا ولا تباغضوا وكونوا عباد الله إخوانا (صحيح بخاري #6064)
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) narrates that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “Refrain from suspicions (and ill thoughts regarding people), for indeed suspicions are the most false of all inner thoughts. Do not search for the faults of people, do not spy on them, do not bear jealousy for one another, do not turn your backs and forsake one another, and do not harbor enmity for one another. And live as brothers, O servants of Allah!”
عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول لا يزال قلب الكبير شابا في اثنتين في حب الدنيا وطول الأمل (صحيح البخاري #6420)
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) said, “I heard Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) mention, “The heart of an aged person always remains young in regard to two things; (1) love for the world (its wealth and comforts) and (2) the fulfillment of lengthy aspirations (through a long life).”
عن أبي هريرة عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال آية المنافق ثلاث إذا حدث كذب وإذا وعد أخلف وإذا اؤتمن خان (صحيح بخاري #33)
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “The sign of person being a hypocrite is that three traits will be found within him; when he speaks, he lies, when he makes a promise, he breaks it, and when he is entrusted (with something), he betrays the trust.”
عن أبي هريرة عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال لا يلدغ المؤمن من جحر واحد مرتين (صحيح مسلم #2998)
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) narrates that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “A believer is not bitten from one hole twice.”
عن أنس بن مالك قال سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم يقول قال الله يا ابن آدم إنك ما دعوتني ورجوتني غفرت لك على ما كان فيك ولا أبالي يا ابن آدم لو بلغت ذنوبك عنان السماء ثم استغفرتني غفرت لك ولا أبالي يا ابن آدم إنك لو أتيتني بقراب الأرض خطايا ثم لقيتني لا تشرك بي شيئا لأتيتك بقرابها مغفرة (سنن الترمذي #3540)
Hazrat Anas bin Maalik (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) narrates that he heard Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) saying that Allah Ta‘ala says, “O son of Aadam (‘alaihis salaam)! So long as you make du‘aa to Me and have hope in Me, I will forgive your sins, and I do not care (there is no one to question my authority). O son of Aadam (‘alaihis salaam)! Even if your sins reach the clouds of the sky and you then turn to Me, seeking My forgiveness, I will forgive you and I do not care (there is no one to question my authority). O son of Aadam (‘alaihis salaam)! If you come to Me with sins which are almost equal to the entire earth and meet Me in the condition that you are not ascribing any partners to Me, I will come to you with (bestow you with) forgiveness which is almost equal to the entire earth.”
عن عائشة زوج النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال : إن الرفق لا يكون في شيء إلا زانه ولا ينزع من شيء إلا شانه (صحيح مسلم #2594)
Hazrat ‘Aa’ishah (radhiyallahu ‘anha), the respected wife of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam), narrates that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “Indeed the quality of gentleness and politeness is such that if it is found in anything, it adorns and beautifies it, and if it is removed from anything, it spoils it and causes it to become ugly.”

عن خريم بن فاتك : قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم : من أنفق نفقة في سبيل الله كتبت له بسبعمائة ضعف (سنن الترمذي #1625)
Hazrat Khuraim bin Faatik (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) narrates that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “The one who spends anything in the path of Allah will have a reward written for him which is multiplied seven hundred times.”
عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال : قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : استوصوا بالنساء فإن المرأة خلقت من ضلع وإن أعوج شيء في الضلع أعلاه فإن ذهبت تقيمه كسرته وإن تركته لم يزل أعوج فاستوصوا بالنساء ( صحيح بخاري #3331 )
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) narrates that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “Ensure that you accept my command to treat women kindly, for indeed a woman has been created from a rib, and the most crooked portion of the rib is the upper portion. Hence, if you try to straighten her (entirely), you will break her, and if you leave her (with correcting her with compassion, but not straightening her completely) then she will remain with (slight) crookedness. Therefore ensure that you accept my command to treat women kindly.”
عن سالم عن أبيه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال المسلم أخو المسلم لا يظلمه ولا يسلمه من كان في حاجة أخيه كان الله في حاجته ومن فرج عن مسلم كربة فرج الله عنه بها كربة من كرب يوم القيامة ومن ستر مسلما ستره الله يوم القيامة ( صحيح مسلم #2580 )
Saalim (rahimahullah) narrates from his father that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “A Muslim is the brother of his fellow Muslim. He will thus neither oppress him nor forsake and abandon him. Whoever sees to the need of his Muslim brother, Allah Ta‘ala will fulfill his need and whoever relieves his Muslim brother of some difficulty, Allah Ta‘ala, in lieu of this, will relieve him of a great difficulty from the difficulties of the Day of Qiyaamah. Whoever conceals the fault (and sin) of his Muslim brother, Allah Ta‘ala will conceal his faults (and sins) on the Day of Qiyaamah.”
عن أبي هريرة قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ليس الغنى عن كثرة العرض ولكن الغنى غنى النفس ( صحيح مسلم #1051 )
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “True wealth is not through possessing abundant wealth and riches. Rather, true wealth is the wealth of the heart.”
