The Journey to Taa’if to Propagate Islam – Part Four
Written by user2Hazrat Aa’ishah (radhiyallahu ‘anha) reports:
I once asked Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam), “O Rasul of Allah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam)! Did you ever encounter a day that was more difficult than the day of Uhud?”
Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) replied, “All the trials I suffered from your people were severe and difficult. However, the most difficult day that I endured was the day when I presented myself before the son of ‘Abd Yaaleel (at Taa’if). He did not accept my message, and I departed from there in a state of extreme grief and sorrow.
Dedicating his Time, Energy and Resources to the Service of Hadith – Imaam Bukhaari (rahimahullah) – Part Nineteen
Written by user2Allah Ta‘ala had chosen Imaam Bukhaari (rahimahullah) for the service of Hadith. Imaam Bukhaari (rahimahullah), throughout his life, regarded his engagement in the service of Hadith to be a great bounty and favor of Allah Ta‘ala upon him. Hence, he dedicated all his time, energy and resources to learning, teaching, practicing and propagating the knowledge of the Mubaarak Hadith of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam). He ensured that at no time would he allow anything to distract him from his main goal and purpose.
In the Mubaarak Ahaadith, Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) mentioned that the angels were created from noor (celestial light), and the Jinn were created from fire, and man was created from soil. (Saheeh Muslim #2996)
In regard to the creation of man, it is reported that when Allah Ta‘ala intended to create Nabi Aadam (‘alaihis salaam), He commanded the Angel of Death to collect the sand from different parts of the earth. (Mirqaat 1/176)
The Journey to Taa’if to Propagate Islam – Part Three
Written by user2‘Utbah bin Rabee‘ah and Shaibah bin Rabee‘ah had hearts that were harder than stone (as they were staunch enemies of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) and Islam). However, when they saw Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) seated beneath the tree in their orchard, in a state of helplessness and having suffered oppression, then even their hearts became soft, and they were overcome by feelings of kinship to their relative and person of their clan, the Quraish.
Building an Inn for the Poor and Travellers and Feeding the People – Imaam Bukhaari (rahimahullah) – Part Eighteen
Written by user2On one occasion, Imaam Bukhaari (rahimahullah) came out from the town of Firabr intending to go to an area near Bukhaara. Imaam Bukhaari (rahimahullah) wished to build an inn for the travellers and the poor in that area. On learning of the intention of Imaam Bukhaari (rahimahullah), a large group of people gathered and decided to assist him in building the inn.
During the construction, Imaam Bukhaari (rahimahullah) would carry bricks with his own hands and personally assist with the building. Observing this, his close student, Muhammed bin Abi Haatim (rahimahullah), said to him, “O Abu Abdillah (this was the filial title of Imaam Bukhaari [rahimahullah])! We are here to serve you. Hence, there is no need for you to undergo difficulty by assisting in the construction.” However, Imaam Bukhaari (rahimahullah) replied, “It is this work that will benefit us and assist us in the Hereafter (and hence we wish to personally take part in it).”
The Journey to Taa’if to Propagate Islam – Part Two
Written by user2While returning from Taa’if, Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) sought refuge in an orchard belonging to Utbah bin Rabee‘ah and Shaibah bin Rabee‘ah. On entering the orchard, Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) sat in the shade of a tree and made the following du‘aa:
O Allah! To You alone do I complain of the feebleness of my strength, the scarceness of my resources and my unimportance in the eyes of people. O the Most-Merciful of those who show mercy! You are the Rabb of the weak! To whom will You entrust me – to a distant enemy who will frown at me, or to a close friend to whom You have assigned my affair? O Allah! So long as You are not displeased with me then I am not concerned or worried in the least. However, ease from You will bring me relief. I seek protection in the divine radiance of Your countenance, which illuminates all darkness, and through which the affairs of this world and the Hereafter continue in harmony, (I seek protection) from You sending down Your anger upon me, or from your wrath falling upon me. You alone do I strive to please, and I will continue until You are pleased, and there is no ability (to refrain from evil) and no power (to carry out righteous actions) except through You.

Carrying the Banner of Islam at Khaibar – Hazrat ‘Ali (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) – Part Twenty One
Written by user2On the occasion of Khaibar, after Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) handed the banner of Islam to Hazrat Ali (radhiyallahu anhu), Hazrat Ali (radhiyallahu anhu) led the army of the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu anhu) to the fortress of Qamoos.
After the demise of Abu Taalib, Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) did not have any person to protect him and support him. Likewise, after the demise of Hazrat Khadijah (radhiyallahu ‘anha), Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) did not have anyone to console him and comfort him.
Thus, in the 10th year after prophethood, at the end of the month of Shawwaal, due to the cruel persecution of the Quraish, Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) decided to travel to Taa’if. Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) hoped that the people of Taa’if would perhaps accept the message of Allah Ta‘ala and become supporters and protectors of deen. Hence, accompanied by Hazrat Zaid bin Haarithah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu), Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) set out for Taa’if.

Once, for three days, I could not find anything to eat in Madinah Munawwarah. I went close to the mimbar to perform two rakaats of salaah. Written by user2In the 7th year after hijrah, Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) and the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu ‘anhum) marched against the Jews of Khaibar.
When Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) and the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu ‘anhum) arrived in Khaibar, the Jews immediately sought refuge within their various fortresses in Khaibar. Thereafter, the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu ‘anhum) came to the Fortress of Qamoos, which was one of the strongest fortresses in Khaibar, and laid siege to it.
Hazrat ‘Abbaas (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports, “I once asked Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam), ‘O Rasul of Allah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam)! Did you benefit your uncle, Abu Taalib, in any way? After all, he would protect you and assist you.’ Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) replied, ‘The fire of Jahannum burns him up to his ankles. If I did not intercede for him, he would have been in the depths of the fire.’”
