Reserving a Special Time for Reciting Durood
Hazrat Habbaan bin Munqiz (rahimahullah) reports that a certain Sahaabi once asked Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam), “O Rasul of Allah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam), should I devote one-third of the time I have allocated for du‘aa to recite durood upon you?” Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) replied, “Yes, if you wish.” The Sahaabi then asked, “Should I devote two-thirds of that time for reciting durood upon you?” Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) again replied, “Yes, if you wish.” The Sahaabi then asked, “Should I devote all of that time for reciting durood upon you?” Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) responded, “If you do so, Allah Ta‘ala will suffice you of every need which you have (and you would have asked for in your du‘aa), whether it relates to your dunya or your Aakhirah.”
