2. Earning with One’s Hands is the Best Type of Earning
Hazrat Miqdaam (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “There is no sustenance better for one to consume than the sustenance earned through one’s own hands (i.e. one’s halaal service or labour). Indeed the Messenger of Allah Ta‘ala , Dawood (‘alaihis salaam), would consume from the earnings of his own hands.” [2]
3. The Virtue of the Truthful and Honest Trader
Hazrat Abu Sa’eed Khudri (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “The truthful and honest trader will be in the company of the Ambiyaa (‘alaihimus salaam), Siddeeqeen and martyrs (in the Hereafter).” [3]
4. Truthfulness in Dealings Secures the Barakah of Allah Ta‘ala
Hazrat Hakeem bin Hizaam (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “If the purchaser and seller deal with honesty and disclose the faults of the merchandise, Allah Ta‘ala will grant them barakah (blessing) in their business transaction. However, if they transact with dishonesty, thereby concealing the faults of the merchandise and lying to each other, perhaps they could earn a little profit through the transaction, but certainly the blessing of the transaction will be lost.” [4]
