Written by user2Appointment as the Khalifah (continued)
After the three days and nights had elapsed, Hazrat ‘Abdur Rahmaan bin ‘Auf (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) came to the home of his nephew, Hazrat Miswar bin Makhramah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu). On arriving, he found him asleep, and thus awoke him saying, “You are sleeping, O Miswar? By Allah, I indeed had very little sleep for the last three days!”
Hazrat ‘Abdur Rahmaan (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) then said to him, “Go and call Hazrat ‘Ali (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) and Hazrat ‘Uthmaan (radhiyallahu ‘anhu).” Hazrat Miswar (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) asked, “Who should I call first?” Hazrat ‘Abdur Rahmaan (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) replied, “Whoever you wish.”
The Islam of Hazrat Abu Zar (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) – Part Two
Written by user2When Hazrat Abu Zar (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) heard the report of his brother, Hazrat Unais (radhiyallahu ‘anhu), he said, “My heart is not yet fully satisfied and convinced.”
Most probably, Hazrat Abu Zar (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) wanted to hear a detailed description of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) and the stories regarding him. The report of his brother was too concise and was thus insufficient for him and could not satisfy him.
Hazrat Sufyaan Thowri (rahimahullah) Showing Extraordinary Respect to Imaam Abu Hanifah (rahimahullah)
Written by user2Hazrat Abu Bakr bin ‘Ayyaash (rahimahullah) reports the following:
When the brother of Hazrat Sufyaan Thowri (rahimahullah), Hazrat ‘Umar bin Sa‘eed (rahimahullah), passed away, we came to Hazrat Sufyaan (rahimahullah) to offer our condolences to him. When we arrived at his majlis, we found that there were many people present, including Hazrat ‘Abdullah bin Idrees (rahimahullah).
While I was there, Imaam Abu Hanifah (rahimahullah) suddenly arrived with a group of people. As soon as Hazrat Sufyaan Thowri (rahimahullah) saw him, he moved from his place and stood. He then hugged Imaam Abu Hanifah (rahimahullah) and made him sit in his own place, thereafter sitting in front of Imaam Abu Hanifah (rahimahullah) with the utmost humility.

After Hazrat Zubair (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) made his right over to Hazrat ‘Ali (radhiyallahu ‘anhu), Hazrat Sa’d (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) made his right over to Hazrat ‘Abdur Rahmaan bin ‘Auf (radhiyallahu ‘anhu), and Hazrat Talhah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) made his right over to Hazrat ‘Uthmaan (radhiyallahu ‘anhu), Hazrat ‘Abdur Rahmaan bin ‘Auf (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) also forewent his right, leaving the Khilaafah between Hazrat ‘Ali (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) and Hazrat ‘Uthmaan (radhiyallahu ‘anhu).
The Islam of Hazrat Abu Zar (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) – Part One
Written by user2It is reported from Hazrat ‘Abdullah bin ‘Abbaas (radhiyallahu ‘anhuma) that when Hazrat Abu Zar Ghifaari (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) learnt of the prophethood of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam), he said to his brother, Hazrat Unais (radhiyallahu ‘anhu), “Go to Makkah Mukarramah and gather information about this man who claims that he is the messenger of Allah and that divine revelation descends upon him from the heavens. Also listen to his message.”
If Imaam Ahmed (rahimahullah) received an invitation to a da’wat, be it a wedding or some other da’wat, then he would accept the invitation. If due to some excuse, he was unable to attend the da’wat, he would excuse himself from attending. However, if he attended a da’wat and had seen wrong taking place e.g. the food being served in silver or gold utensils or any other wrong, he would immediately wake up and leave the da’wat.

As soon as I heard of Rasulullah’s (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) appearance, I went to Makkah and met him in secret. On meeting him, I asked, “Who are you?” He replied, “I am the messenger of Allah.” I asked, “Did Allah Ta‘ala send you as the Nabi?” Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) replied in the affirmative. I then asked, “What message did Allah Ta‘ala send you with?” Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) replied, “Allah Ta‘ala sent me with the message that you should believe in Him as one god and not ascribe any partners to him. You should destroy idols and maintain family ties.”

Written by user2Haaroon bin Sa‘eed bin Haytham Al-Ayli narrates the following:
On one occasion, some of the Fuqahaa of Egypt entered the presence of Imaam Shaafi‘ee (rahimahullah) at the time of sehri. On entering and meeting him, they saw that he had the Qur’aan Majeed before him and was occupied with its recitation.

After the janaazah salaah of Hazrat ‘Umar (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) was performed, the members of the Shura went into the grave with Hazrat ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) in order to lower the body of Hazrat ‘Umar (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) into the grave. However, from the members of the Shura, Hazrat Talhah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) did not descend into the grave as he was not present on that occasion.

Written by user2Appointment as the Khalifah (continued)
After appointing the Shura of six personalities, Hazrat ‘Umar further remarked, “I do not think that the people will regard any person to be as great as Hazrat ‘Uthmaan (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) and Hazrat ‘Ali (radhiyallahu ‘anhu). These two Sahaabah would sit record the wahi with the instruction of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) at the time when Hazrat Jibreel (‘alaihis salaam) would bring the wahi to him.”

The Islam of Hazrat ‘Amr bin ‘Abasah (radhiyallahu 'anhu) - Part One
Written by user2Hazrat ‘Amr bin ‘Abasah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) says:
From the very beginning, I disassociated myself from idol worship and I was completely averse to it. I understood and knew that idols could neither benefit nor harm and were mere pieces of stone.
On one occasion, I met a scholar from the Ahl-e-Kitaab (people of the scriptures i.e. Jews or Christians) and asked him which religion was the best and most virtuous. The scholar replied, “A man will soon appear in Makkah. His religion will be the best religion. He will invite people away from idolatry towards the oneness of Allah. If you happen to find him, ensure that you follow him.”
From that moment, the city of Makkah was constantly in my thoughts. I would enquire regarding the news of Makkah from every person going to Makkah or returning from it until I finally heard of Rasulullah’s (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) appearance.

‘Amr bin Yazeed was a friend of Imaam Maalik (rahimahullah) who lived in Egypt. He narrates the following:
I once said to Imaam Maalik (rahimahullah), “O Abu ‘Abdillah! People travel to you from different lands. They wear out their animals and spend their money in coming to you so that they can ask you their masaa’il and benefit from the knowledge of Deen which Allah Ta‘ala has blessed you with. Thereafter, when they ask you their question, you often tell them, ‘I do not know the answer.’”

Before passing away, Hazrat ‘Umar (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) formed a Shura (council) consisting of the following six Sahaabah (radhiyallahu ‘anhum):
Hazrat ‘Ali (radhiyallahu ‘anhu), Hazrat ‘Uthmaan (radhiyallahu ‘anhu), Hazrat Zubair (radhiyallahu ‘anhu), Hazrat Talhah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu), Hazrat Sa’d (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) and Hazrat ‘Abdur Rahmaan bin ‘Auf (radhiyallahu ‘anhu).
The Islam of Hazrat ‘Ammaar bin Yaasir (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) and Hazrat Suhaib bin Sinaan (radhiyallahu ‘anhu)
Written by user2Hazrat ‘Ammaar bin Yaasir (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) says:
Hazrat Suhaib bin Sinaan (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) and I had come to Daar-e-Arqam at the same time. We met at the door of Daar-e-Arqam, while Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) was inside, and asked each other what our intention for coming to see Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) was.
I replied, “I intend to go to Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) to listen to his message.” Hazrat Suhaib (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) expressed that he had the same intention. Both of us then entered Daar-e-Arqam where Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) presented the teachings of Islam to us and invited us to bring Imaan. Without any delay, we both accepted his invitation to Islam and were blessed with Imaan.
