عن زيد بن ثابت رضي الله عنه قال سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول نضر الله امرأ سمع منا حديثا فحفظه حتى يبلغه فرب حامل فقه إلى من هو أفقه منه ورب حامل فقه ليس بفقيه (سنن أبي داود #3662)

Hazrat Zaid bin Thaabit (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports, “I heard Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) saying, ‘May Allah Ta‘ala bless that person with beauty who hears a Hadith from us, and thereafter memorizes it until he conveys it (to others). There are many who carry the knowledge of Fiqh (i.e. they are in possession of Ahaadith which relate to laws of Shari‘ah) and convey it to those who are more understanding than them, and there are many who carry the knowledge of Fiqh yet do not possess the understanding of it.”
