Prescription to Create Mutual Love
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “You will not enter Paradise until you bring Imaan, and you cannot acquire perfect Imaan until you possess mutual love. Shall I not show you a method whereby you will inculcate among yourselves mutual love? Make salaam a common practice amongst yourselves (at the time of meeting each other).” [2]
Meritorious Action of Islam
Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr (radhiyallahu ‘anhuma) reports that a man once asked Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam), “Which feature and etiquette of Islam is highly commendable and meritorious?” Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) replied, “Feeding the creation and greeting the people with salaam, whether you know them or not.” [3]
Bring Blessings to Your Home
Hazrat Anas (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports: Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) once said to me, “O my beloved son! Upon entering your home, greet your family (i.e. the inmates of the home) with salaam. This will be a means of earning blessings for yourself and your family.” [4]
