However, I was still not completely convinced (that this was the same land), when another Jew from Banu Quraizah approached him (my master) and purchased me from him. He then brought me to Madinah Munawwarah. The moment I set foot in Madinah, I realized that it matched the description which my companion (i.e. the aalim in Umooriyyah) had given, and I was convinced that this is the very same city which was previously described to me.

It appears in Saheeh Bukhaari that Hazrat Salmaan (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) says, “In this manner, I was purchased and sold more than ten times.” (The people continued to sell him to one another for a few dirhams as they had no interest in him, however nobody realized his true value.)
