Thereafter Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) entered Musjid-ul-Aqsa and performed two rakaats of Tahiyyat-ul-Musjid. In one Hadith, it is reported that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “I, and Jibreel, both entered the musjid and we both performed two rakaats of salaah.”
On this auspicious occasion of the arrival of Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam), the other Ambiyaa (‘alaihimus salaam) were already present and were awaiting his arrival. Nabi Ebrahim (‘alaihis salaam), Nabi Musa (‘alaihis salaam) and Nabi Isa (‘alaihis salaam) were also present among these Ambiyaa (‘alaihimus salaam).
Shortly thereafter, a large number of people gathered in Musjid-ul-Aqsa. A mu’azzin called out the azaan and then called out the iqaamah, and the congregation formed the saffs (rows) for salaah. However, the entire congregation was waiting to see who would lead them in salaah.
Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) mentioned, “At that moment, Hazrat Jibreel (‘alaihis salaam) held my hand and led me forward. I then led all of them in salaah. When I completed the salaah, Hazrat Jibreel (‘alaihis salaam) asked me, ‘Do you know who you led in salaah?’ I replied, ‘No, I do not know.’ Hazrat Jibreel (‘alaihis salaam) replied, ‘All the Ambiyaa (‘alaihimus salaam) who were sent before you - every single one of them performed salaah behind you.’”
According to another narration, even the angels descended from the heavens on this occasion. Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) then led all the Ambiyaa (‘alaihimus salaam) and the angels in salaah.
Upon the completion of the salaah, the angels asked Hazrat Jibreel (‘alaihis salaam), “Who is person who is with you?” Hazrat Jibreel (‘alaihis salaam) replied, “This is Muhammed (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam), the seal of all the Prophets.” The angels asked, “Has he been summoned and called by Allah Ta‘ala (and thus he is on his journey to the heavens)?” When Hazrat Jibreel (‘alaihis salaam) replied in the affirmative, the angels said, “May Allah Ta‘ala keep him alive and well. He is a wonderful brother and excellent vicegerent. (In other words, he is our brother and the vicegerent of Allah Ta‘ala)”
Thereafter, Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) met with the souls of the Ambiyaa (‘alaihimus salaam). Each one of them praised and glorified Allah Ta‘ala in a unique manner.
Insha Allah, we will next discuss the praises of the different Ambiyaa (‘alaihimus salaam).
