Sahaabah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) of the Same Age

Musa bin Talhah (rahimahullah) has mentioned that Hazrat ‘Ali (radhiyallahu ‘anhu), Hazrat Zubair (radhiyallahu ‘anhu), Hazrat Talhah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) and Hazrat Sa’d (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) were all born in the same year.

Islam at the Hands of Hazrat Abu Bakr (radhiyallahu ‘anhu)

Ibn Ishaaq (rahimahullah) has mentioned Hazrat Zubair (radhiyallahu ‘anhu), Hazrat ‘Uthmaan (radhiyallahu ‘anhu), Hazrat Talhah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu), Hazrat ‘Abdur Rahmaan (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) and Hazrat Sa’d (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) had all accepted Islam at the hands of Hazrat Abu Bakr (radhiyallahu ‘anhu).

Participation in the Battle of Badr

Ismaa‘eel bin abi Khaalid narrates that Bahiyy (rahimahullah) said, “There were only two horsemen fighting in Jihaad on the occasion of Badr with Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam). One was Hazrat Zubair (radhiyallahu ‘anhu), who was fighting on the right flank, and the other was Hazrat Miqdaad bin Aswad (radhiyallahu ‘anhu), who was fighting on the left flank.

Hishaam bin ‘Urwah narrates that his father, ‘Urwah (rahimahullah), said, “Hazrat Zubair (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) was wearing a yellow turban on the Day of Badr. Hazrat Jibreel (‘alaihis salaam) then descended resembling Hazrat Zubair (radhiyallahu ‘anhu i.e. also wearing a yellow turban) .”
