Hearing this incident, the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu ‘anhum) exclaimed (in surprise), “Subhaanallah! How strange it is that a cow had spoken!” Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) then said, “I, and Abu Bakr and Umar bring imaan in this (i.e. we believe that this information of the cow speaking is true).”
Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) then mentioned (another incident of the Bani Israa’eel):
A man was once among his flock of goats when a wolf attacked one of the goats and caught hold of it. Seeing this, the man immediately pursued it and recovered the goat from the wolf. The wolf then spoke to the man and said, “(You have succeeded in taking the goat away from me today, but) who will be there for the goat on the day of the predatory animals when there will be nobody with the goat besides me? (i.e. the day when the predatory animals will be left loose to hunt down any animal they wish to devour. This day refers to the time before Qiyaamah when on account of the abundant fitnahs, people will abandon their animals.)”
When Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) mentioned this incident to the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu ‘anhum), they exclaimed in astonishment, “Subhaanallah! How strange it is that a wolf spoke!” Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) then said, “I, and Abu Bakr and Umar bring imaan in this (i.e. we believe that this information of the wolf speaking is true).”
At the time when Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said this, Hazrat Abu Bakr (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) and Hazrat ‘Umar (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) were not present in the gathering.

In this Hadith, Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) mentioned to the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu ‘anhum) that he believed in the truth of these two incidents. Furthermore, Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) had such confidence in the belief of Hazrat Abu Bakr (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) and Hazrat ‘Umar (radhiyallahu ‘anhu), that despite them not being present in the gathering to hear the incident from Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam), he testified on their behalf regarding them accepting his words. In other words, when they will be informed of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) reporting this incident, they will immediately and wholeheartedly accept it, without an iota of doubt.
