Hazrat Abu Maalik Ash‘ari (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) narrates that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “Cleanliness is half of Imaan. ‘Alhamdulillah’ fills the scale, and ‘Subhaanallah wal Hamdulillah’ fills all that which is between the heavens and the earth. Salaah is a noor (inner light which will save one from sin), Sadaqah is a proof (of Imaan) and Sabr is a light (through which one will be guided). The Qur’aan is either a proof in your favor (by upholding its teachings) or against you (by violating its laws). All the people proceed (from their homes) in the morning (to the market), and then sell themselves (to Allah Ta‘ala, by fulfilling his commands) and free themselves (from Jahannum), and others destroy themselves (by selling themselves to Shaitaan through obeying him).”
