عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما قال : ليس أحد من أمة محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم يصلي على محمد أو يسلم عليه إلا بُلِّغه : يصلي عليك فلان ويسلم عليك فلان رواه إسحاق بن راهويه في مسنده هكذا موقوفا (القول البديع ص324)

Hazrat Ibnu ‘Abbaas (radhiyallahu ‘anhuma) once mentioned the following, “There is no person from the ummah of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) who recites salaat or salaam upon Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) except that it is conveyed to him and he is told, ‘So-and-so has recited salaat upon you, and so-and-so has recited salaam upon you.’”
