Hazrat Ya’laa bin Murrah Thaqafee (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports, “We were once travelling with Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) when we halted at a certain place. After halting, Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) went to sleep. Thereafter, a tree came, forging its way through the earth, until it covered Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam), after which it left and returned to its place. When Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) awoke, I mentioned to him what had transpired. Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, ‘It is a tree that asked its Rabb for permission to (come to me and) make salaam to me. Allah Ta‘ala granted permission to this tree.’”
