But alas, Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) would return without anyone to grant him support or assistance.
This continued until the time that Allah Ta‘ala sent us from Yathrib (Madinah Munawwarah) to Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam). We believed in him and offered him our support. Every one of us who met him returned to Madinah Munawwarah as a Muslim.
After some time, when Islam had penetrated into almost every home in Madinah Munawwarah, we called a meeting in which we deliberated over the plight of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam). We thought to ourselves, “How much longer are we going to leave Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) in this condition, wandering through the mountains of Makkah Mukarramah in a state of worry and fear?”
Thereafter, at the time of Haj that year, seventy of us came from Madinah Munawwarah to Makkah Mukarramah…”
