Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “Whoever believes in Allah and the last day (the Day of Qiyaamah), then he should not cause his neighbor any harm. Whoever believes in Allah and the last day (the Day of Qiyaamah), then he should honor his guest. Whoever believes in Allah and the last day (the Day of Qiyaamah), then he should speak good or remain silent.”

Note:

The expression “whoever believes in Allah and the last day” refers to one who believes in the Deen of Islam from the beginning until the end. Such a person, who believes in Islam, should adopt the ways of Islam and he should refrain from hurting his neighbor, honor his guest and conduct with goodness in his speech and communication. Since the beginning of Islam commences with Tauheed and ends with Qiyaamah, as the position of the Imaan of each person will be known on the Day of Qiyaamah, Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) specifically mentioned these two main components of Imaan.

The reason for Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) stressing the importance of these three qualities, after mentioning bringing Imaan in Tauheed and Qiyaamah, is that these three qualities are linked to Imaan, and it is the dictates and demands of Imaan that a person fulfill these three rights when dealing with the servants of Allah Ta‘ala.
