Hazrat ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar (radhiyallahu ‘anhuma) narrates that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “Moderation in expenditure is half of livelihood (as it allows a person to live in ease. Being a spendthrift or miserly causes one to face difficulties in his livelihood), showing love and affection to people is half of intelligence, and asking good questions (i.e. relevant and beneficial questions) is half of knowledge (as it is a means of acquiring true understanding in Deen).”
