16. Make masah of the nape by using the back part of the fingers. (Masah will not be made of the neck). [11]

Hadhrat Abdullah Ibn Umar (Radhiallahu Anhu) narrates that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: "Whoever performs wudhu and makes masah over his nape, he will be saved from wearing a necklace (of fire) around his neck on the day of judgement.

17. Wash the feet including the ankles thrice. It is mustahab to commence the washing of the feet from the toes going up to the ankles. [12]

Humraan, the freed slave of Uthmaan (Radiallahu Anhu) reports that Uthmaan (Radiallahu Anhu) requested for some water to perform wudhu...thereafter he washed his right foot till the ankles thrice, followed by the left foot. He then mentioned: I saw Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) perform wudhu in this manner.

18. Make khilaal of the toes using the small finger of the left hand. One should commence with the small toe of the right foot and end with the small toe of the left foot. [13]

Hadhrat Mustaurid bin Shaddaad (Radiallahu Anhu) reports: I saw Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) making khilaal of his toes with the small finger (of his left hand) whilst making wudhu.

19. Recite the shahaadah as well as the masnoon duaa:

I testify that there is no deity besides Allah Ta’ala who is alone and has no partner and I testify that Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) is his servant and messenger.
O Allah, include me from amongst those who repent excessively and among those who are extremely pure.

Hadhrat Umar (Radiallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: Whoever performs a perfect wudhu then recites the following Duaa:

The eight doors of Jannat are opened for him and he may enter from whichever door he wishes.
