عن عائشة قالت قلت يا رسول الله إن لي جارين فإلى أيهما أهدي قال إلى أقربهما منك بابا (صحيح البخاري #6020)

Hazrat ‘Aa’ishah (radhiyallahu ‘anha) mentions, “I asked Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam), ‘I have two neighbors. To which of them should I send a gift (which of them is more deserving of the gift I wish to give)?’ Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) replied, ‘(Gift it) to the neighbor whose door is closer to you.’”
