عن ابن عمر أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: إذا كذب العبد تباعد عنه الملك ميلا من نتن ما جاء به (سنن الترمذي، الرقم: 1972)

Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (radhiyallahu ‘anhuma) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “When the servant of Allah Ta‘ala speaks a lie, the angels (appointed to protect him) distance themselves and go one mile away from him on account of the stench of his lie (which he has spoken).”
