What is Islam - eBook
Emulating the Mubaarak Sunnah of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam)
All praise is due to Allah Ta‘ala and may the choicest durood (salutations) and salaam (peace) descend upon the noblest of Ambiyaa and Rasuls, our master and leader, Hazrat Muhammed (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam), as well as upon his blessed household and all his illustrious companions (radhiyallahu ‘anhum).
It is the belief of every Muslim that those who enjoy the highest rank from the creation of Allah Ta‘ala are the Ambiyaa (‘alaihimus salaam). From the galaxy of Ambiyaa (‘alaihimus salaam), the highest in rank and status is Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam). Hence, not only is Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) the final messenger of Allah Ta‘ala and the seal of prophethood, but he is also the leader of all the Ambiyaa and Rasuls (‘alaihimus salaam).
The esteemed position which Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) enjoys in the sight of Allah Ta‘ala can be gauged from the fact that Allah Ta‘ala has declared in the Holy Qur’aan that the only way to gain His love is to emulate the mubaarak sunnah of His beloved Rasul (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) in all aspects of life. (Surah Aal-e-Imraan v.31)
