Hazrat ‘Ali (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) – Part Five
The Hijrah of Hazrat ‘Ali (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) to Madinah Munawwarah
When the second pledge of ‘Aqabah took place, the Ansaar requested Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) to come and live in Madinah Munawwarah, and they promised to support Islam and protect Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam).
It was after this pledge that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) instructed the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu ‘anhum) to perform hijrah to Madinah Munwwarah.
Accordingly, all the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu ‘anhum) who were able to perform hijrah left Makkah Mukarramah and moved to Madinah Munawwarah, until only Hazrat Abu Bakr (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) and Hazrat ‘Ali (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) remained with Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) in Makkah Mukarramah, apart from those weak Sahaabah (radhiyallahu ‘anhum) who were unable to perform hijrah, due to being held back by the kuffaar of Makkah.
