Even until today, the battlefield of Badr stands testament (to the significance of this great battle). It is for this reason that in the Qur’aan Majeed, Allah Ta‘ala refers to the day of Badr as “Yaum-ul-Furqaan” – the day which was the differentiating factor between truth and falsehood.
In fact, the month when Badr occurred was also the month of Furqaan. It was the month of Ramadhaan in which Allah Ta‘ala revealed the Qur’aan Majeed, which is also known as “Furqaan-e-Hameed”, through which Allah Ta‘ala exposed the distinction between truth and falsehood, between guidance and misguidance.
