عن ابن مسعود قال : قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : إن من أشراط الساعة أن يمر الرجل في طول المسجد وعرضه لا يصلي فيه ركعتين (المعجم الكبير للطبراني رقم 9488)

Hazrat ‘Abdullah bin Mas‘ood (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “From among the signs of Qiyaamah is that a person will walk the length and breadth of the Musjid, and he would not perform even two rakaat of salaah therein.”

عن أنس بن مالك قال : قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم … إن هذه المساجد لا تصلح لشيء من هذا البول ولا القذر إنما هي لذكر الله عز وجل والصلاة وقراءة القرآن أو كما قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم (صحيح مسلم رقم 285)

Hazrat Anas (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “These masaajid have not been built for the purpose of passing urine and relieving oneself in it. These masaajid are constructed for the remembrance of Allah Ta‘ala, performance of salaah, and the recitation of the Qur’aan Majeed.”

30. Leave the musjid with the left foot.

عن أنس بن مالك أنه كان يقول : من السنة إذا دخلت المسجد أن تبدأ برجلك اليمنى وإذا خرجت أن تبدأ برجلك اليسرى هذا حديث صحيح على شرط مسلم فقد احتج بشداد بن سعيد أبي طلحة الراسبي ولم يخرجاه (المستدرك للحاكم رقم 791)

It is reported from Hazrat Anas (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) that he said, “It is from the sunnah (established from the words of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam)) that when you enter the musjid you should enter with your right foot; and when you exit from the musjid you should exit with your left foot.”

31. Recite the masnoon du‘aa upon leaving the musjid:

بِسْمِ اللهِ وَالصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ عَلٰى رَسُوْلِ اللهِ اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ

In the name of Allah Ta‘ala. May peace and salutations be upon Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam). O Allah, I ask You for Your bounties.

عن أبي حميد أو أبي أسيد الأنصاري قال : قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا دخل أحدكم المسجد فليسلم على النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ثم ليقل : اللهم افتح لي أبواب رحمتك فإذا خرج فليقل اللهم إني أسألك من فضلك (سنن أبي داود رقم 465)

Hazrat Abu Humaid (or Abu Usaid) (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “When anyone of you enter the Musjid, then he should recite durood upon Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) and recite the following du‘aa:

اَللّٰهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِيْ أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ

And upon leaving the musjid, he should recite:

اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ
