33. One should not hasten in removing his hand after making musaafahah. Rather, one should allow the next person to remove his hand first.

عن أنس بن مالك قال : كان النبي صلى الله عليه و سلم إذا استقبله الرجل فصافحه لا ينزع يده من يده حتى يكون الرجل الذي ينزع ولا يصرف وجهه عن وجهه حتى يكون الرجل الذي يصرفه (ترمذي رقم 2490)

Hazrat Anas (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that when any person would meet Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) and make musaafahah, Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) would not remove his hand, until the other person removed his hand first, and Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) would not turn his face away (to leave from the place of meeting), until the other person turned his face away first (to leave from the place of meeting).
