Aadaab at the time of calling out the azaan:

1. The one calling out the azaan should be in the state of wudhu.

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “The one calling out the azaan should be in the state of wudhu.”

2. The Muazzin should face the qiblah at the time of calling out the azaan.

Hazrat Mu‘aaz bin Jabal (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports… Hazrat ‘Abdullah bin Zaid (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) came, and he faced the qiblah (and called out the azaan).

It is reported from Hasan Basri (rahimahullah) and Muhammad bin Munkadir (rahimahullah) that when the Muazzin calls out the azaan, he should face the qiblah.

3. The Muazzin should call out the azaan while standing.

‘Abdul Jabbaar bin Waa'il (rahimahullah) relates from his father, “It is established in the sunnah that the Muazzin should call out the azaan in the state of wudhu and whilst he is standing.”
