The Caution of a Believer

Written by

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “A believer is not bitten from the same hole twice.”

The meaning of this Hadith is that a believer is alert and exercises caution in his social and monetary dealings. If he is deceived by someone once on account of his misjudgement, then he will ensure that the mistake will not recur and he does not face the same consequence in the future.

Hazrat Jaabir bin ‘Abdillah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) once made the following du‘aa, “May Allah have mercy on the person who is lenient (and considerate) when he sells, purchases and when he claims money owed to him (i.e. in his business dealings, he is not harsh and inconsiderate, rather he is polite and considerate when his debtor is unable to fulfill the debt).”

Hazrat Abu Sa‘eed Khudri (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “Indeed the worst of people involved in theft is the person who steals from his salaah.” The Sahaabah (radhiyallahu ‘anhum) enquired, “O Rasul of Allah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam)! How does one steal from his salaah?” Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) replied, “He does not perform the rukoo and sajdah in the correct manner. (though in this Hadith, rukoo’ and sajdah are mentioned, it will also apply to the other postures of salaah)”

The Time when a Woman is Closest to Allah

Written by

It is reported from Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas‘ood (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said that a woman should be concealed (from the eyes of strange men). When she exits from her home, Shaitaan stares at her. The time that she is closest to her Lord is when she is concealed within the recesses of her home.

The Reward of Forgiving People

Written by

Hazrat Anas (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “On the Day of Qiyaamah, when the servants of Allah Ta‘ala will be standing and waiting for their reckoning to be taken, a group of people will come with their swords placed and hanging on their necks, dripping with blood. This group will crowd around the door of Jannah before entering. A person will ask, “Who are these people?” Someone will answer, “These are the martyrs. They remained alive (after gaining martyrdom, as martyrs never die) and were blessed with sustenance from Allah Ta‘ala.” Thereafter, someone will announce, “Those people who Allah has taken responsibility for granting them the reward from His side should stand and enter Jannah.” The announcement will then be made for a second time, “Those people who Allah has taken responsibility for granting them the reward from His side should stand and enter Jannah.” Someone will then ask, “Who are the people who Allah has taken responsibility for granting them the reward from His side?” The answer will be given, “They are those people who had the habit of forgiving people in the world.” The announcement will then be made for the third time, “Those people who Allah has taken responsibility for granting them the reward from His side should stand and enter Jannah.”A few thousand people will then stand and enter Jannah without any reckoning.”
